The Heal Los Angeles Foundation (Heal LA) is thrilled to announce “This is Thriller,” which will be taking place this year on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the iconic Palace Theatre located in Los Angeles. There are so many new and exciting aspects about this event!
First and foremost, it’s always exciting for Heal LA to come up with new events for the Michael Jackson community and to raise funds for Heal LA’s programs and initiatives. Secondly, the Palace Theatre, as many people know, is the theatre featured in Michael Jackson’s short film, Thriller. Although the Palace Theatre has been operating for certain public and private events, our announcement about “This is Thriller” has made MJ fans even more excited, as many thought the theatre was no longer in use.
A special fun fact about the connection between Thriller and the Palace Theatre is that there has not been an event related to Michael Jackson or Thriller at this location since the short film.

What will be happening at This is Thriller?
“This is Thriller” will be a two-hour event, and ticket holders will have the opportunity to arrive earlier to purchase merchandise, enjoy snacks, and explore the venue.
Heal LA will be sharing detailed information about the event’s activities as we get closer to the date. Stay tuned for exciting updates on what you can expect during this thrilling two-hour experience.
Will This is Thriller be a yearly event?
“This is Thriller” is planned to be a yearly event, except for the years when Heal LA will be hosting Thriller Night (more information about Thriller Night plans in the next section). Although “This is Thriller” will take place annually, the event will be modified each year to offer new and fun experiences.
Heal LA plans to make an earlier announcement for “This is Thriller” in 2025, aiming for an announcement in January or February.
What are the future plans for Thriller Night?
Heal LA’s event, “Thriller Night,” known as the “party of the year,” is taking a new approach as we move forward. The new plan is to host Thriller Night every five years, with the next one scheduled for 2027 to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Thriller. The last Thriller Night event took place in 2022, which is why the next one will be in 2027.
Prince and John felt it was extremely important to celebrate the life and legacy of Michael Jackson and the greatest selling album of all time, Thriller, on a yearly basis. Hosting an event like “This is Thriller” made perfect sense, as it combines four elements: Michael Jackson, the album Thriller, Halloween, and Heal LA.
Will there be other opportunities to visit Hayvenhurst?
Heal LA is always looking for fun and creative ways to open the gates of Hayvenhurst. Earlier this year, Heal LA announced the “King of Popcorn Movie Night Series,” which will be taking place at Hayvenhurst.
Ticket holders will have access to the property two hours before the movie starts. Tickets include food, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and a take-home goodie bag. Additionally, exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase exclusively at our event.The dates for the King of Popcorn Movie Night Series are:
