Why Loreto?

When Heal LA began exploring where to launch its programs and initiatives, we were intentional about focusing on communities that could benefit most from added support. With the help of consultants, we identified zip codes with high rates of childhood obesity, limited access to resources, and a large population of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. From there, we began reaching out to schools to find the right fit, one that would be open to collaboration and committed to creating meaningful change for its students.

That search led us to Loreto Street Elementary. From the very beginning, the school community welcomed us with open arms. The students have shown incredible enthusiasm and curiosity, while the teachers and staff have gone above and beyond to support our efforts. Working alongside such a dedicated and passionate team has made our partnership not only impactful but deeply rewarding. Loreto has become more than just a school we serve. It is truly a part of the Heal LA family.
