Our 2nd Annual Mattel Holiday Celebration

Heal Los Angeles Foundation & LAPD Baseball Foundation welcomed 50 well-deserving kids at Mattel in El Segundo on December 20th for our 2nd Annual Mattel Holiday Celebration. Loreto Street Elementary School administrators selected 25 students to participate on behalf of Heal LA and 25 children from Pacoima Housing were selected for LAPD Baseball.

Mattel gave a generous 30% store discount, and each child was given $140 to spend on whichever toys their hearts desired. The two-hour event was filled with laughter and smiles even masks couldn’t hide as kids filled their baskets with Barbies, Minecraft, and other Mattel favorites. Their fun-filled shopping spree included helpers Heal LA Board Member and LAPD Baseball President, Officer Michael Scott, Heal LA Co-founder Prince Jackson, Heal LA Ambassador Omer Bhatti, LAPD Officers, and Santa Scott to fill their shopping carts.

The kids not only went home with a huge bag of toys, but also merry memories to look back on. “It’s a wonderful feeling being able to support so many families and kids. These are moments these kids and their parents will remember for the rest of their lives” – Heal LA Board Member and LAPD Baseball President, Officer Michael Scott.
